Exploring a Hidden Urban Fishing Oasis!

I used to be like you, a kid from the midwest who fished in every puddle of muddy water from Wis to Florida. Now I don't even get excited when the walleyes are running - which they are btw. I'm 70yrs now, can't freaking believe it, feel like I'm 35. I like watching you, like seeing myself 40yrs ago. Keep the sport alive, it needs it. Some kids now don't even leave the house, prefer video games. Please don't ever get tired of the walleye run like I did. Nice work as usual, and don't forget Wisconsin, we got fish here too. Go for musky, there's stocked ones that will never getting bigger. Door County smallies, musky, still a great fishery. Thanks for all the years of fun

I'm 2:50 into the video and it just hit me. Jon said he's starting to get old man bones. Has anyone else seen Jon's first ever video where he's like 10 years old. I feel like that was yesterday lol. Man time flies. I feel ya jon, I think we're about the same age.

I'm actually currently in that season of losing motivation because I don't have a boat or kayak. Learning to be patient in the midst of tidal waves of life tends to deter you from what goals you wish to accomplish. Soon I'll be creating a fishing channel myself but when things like this happen it's definitely discouraging. Watching Jon B for years now and seeing this guy grow way before Googan was even an idea keeps me motivated to keep pushing, staying consistent, going out to every pond, river, or lake and Never Stop Fishing. Truly has been a great adventure watching this guy. Now its my turn to go on the adventure. Shontavin here, can't wait to see how fun begins and where the waters take me. I gotta say I love these videos because I feel like all of these new fisherman are looking to get the most expensive and best experience possible, sure its cool to have some extra lures and stuff, but as a shore fisherman, it is amazing just to get out with your buddies, walk around some ponds and maybe catch some fish. Its less about catching fish but think about getting into nature and spending time doing something you love.

My buddy caught a WEIGHED 8 pounder out of a little residential subdivision pond behind his moms house in NORTHBROOK FREAKIN' ILLINOIS. But it was about 20 years back when the pond was at its peak. Last time we fished it, before Larry died... we saw no signs of bass. Suspect a winter kill.

This video hits close to home with me. There is a lake near me that I learned to fish at, and there are some massive carp in there. One summer I spotted a giant koi and I’ll only ever see it whenever the weather warms up, grazing. I’ve had so many days targeting them, skunking every single time. BUT, I have caught one, and lost so so many as of recent. The other day I hooked to what had to have been a 4 foot long grass carp and I got it an arms length from me and the line just snapped and he took off. My heart sank.
I’ve also managed to hook some on very small top water lures, working them very slowly like a small bug.
Either way, seeing that koi was awesome and I’m glad you had the same excitement.

Please go fish in east texas at the neches river in Chandler. Sometimes I catch small crawfish and use them as bait. Lots of white bass and yellow bass. Kayak recommended.
