I mean I'm not a character designer or anything, but I feel like the best monster girls have more monstrous traits than human traits. So Yiggdrasil, Mako, and Suzu are good examples cause they're humanoid, but with enough inhuman traits that you couldn't classify them as humans.
That's kinda why I think Fuyuko, Ara, and Typhon are bad monster girl designs, they just look like normal people with minimal monster traits. A lot more could have been done to make them look more like monsters, and less like normal people in cosplay.
Faranne, Shuri, Bob, and Ophelia are the only ones who can get away with having bad monster girl designs cause they aren't meant to be monsters. But then why put characters like that In a game that litterally has "monster girl" in the name? So I'd also avoid characters that aren't actually monsters (unless it's plot reasons or smth like that)
It makes sense, on the other hand people like this classic designs..animal ears and elves are the basics.
I think it's not bad to start with something lighter and then add more "spicy" characters. So the player has something to look forward to. MGI worked quite well in this.
tbf you could've kept DX12, but then again I'm pretty sure the people in this market can't really handle it lol

if i were a rich man i'd spend unfathomable amounts of money to bring this game back to development. ts got me so hooked on monster girl games ever since i played it and very little games have scratched the same itch especially gameplay wise. if the dev really finished this game it might have been the best ero game of all time ngl

Basically what I think: Yeah. I spent all my "hard earn money" on Genshit because I'm so shit as managing my life and my work and let addiction take over. And now my dog in distress. I hope I can used it as a reason for people to "Contribute" so I can spent more money on gacha.

If I remember correctly he said he was from a third world country where his patreon money is equivalent to a shit ton. Even Gatcha shouldn't drain his funds this excessively. Also the dog thing was one of his discord moderators.
My guess is that he got successfull, then bored and then just left. Now he returns from time to time to passively push his now sfw content.
he's appearently working on a visual novel of monster girl island with no hentai content
still. Grabbing people's money and then just disappear without saying a single word is quite a jerk move.
